The Beauty in You

So often we look outside ourselves. Outside ourselves for love, for beauty. On days like today, that tell us how love should look, or how our life should be, this can become fierce.

Love and beauty don’t look a particular way. In fact, love and beauty can take on an extraordinary dimension if we don’t put any boxes or constraints around it.

If we really let beauty in.

In the words of John O’Donohue…

“The wonder of the Beautiful is its ability to surprise us. With swift, sheer grace, it is like a divine breath that blows the heart open.”

We can often see the beauty in others. Or in the things around us; the birds, the sunsets, the blooms at Spring.

But what about the beauty in you?

There is immense beauty and wonder in you.

Can you allow yourself to see it? To tap into it just a little bit?

To move away from the harsh judgements.

Into a place of curiosity for what may be beautiful within you.

Today this is what I’d like to offer you. The gift of seeing the beauty in yourself, in all of who you are.

This can be difficult, or you may find it easy, depending on how you’re feeling in this moment or where you are in your relationship with yourself.

But this is the important bit. The relationship with yourself. This is the relationship that truly matters, and where all your other relationships stem from.

So how can you honor the beauty in you today? And the relationship with yourself?

Tune into what would feel loving.

It could be taking a moment to enjoy your favorite cup of tea. (Yogi do a beautiful rose tea which I think is perfect for a bit of love).

A warm bath, with lovely essential oils.

Or the gift of flowers. I bought myself this beautiful single rose on Saturday.

Whatever you would like. Whatever your heart calls for.

And if you feel brave, I’d love you to share your beauty with me. Reply and tell me one thing that’s beautiful about you. I’d love to hear.

Sending love, from my heart to yours.
